Last November, Multnomah Group celebrated our 15 year anniversary. We are proud and excited about this milestone! As part of our celebration and reflection on this anniversary, we wanted to take an opportunity to spend time working within the community we are rooted in – Portland, Oregon. We had the opportunity to volunteer with a company whose sole focus is on the Portland community. Central City Concern (CCC) is nonprofit agency serving single adults and families in the Portland metro area who are impacted by homelessness, poverty, and addictions. Founded in 1979, the agency has developed a comprehensive continuum of affordable housing options integrated with direct social services including healthcare, recovery, and employment.
Last week, we had an opportunity to prepare sack lunches for residents at two of CCC’s housing communities. Armed with the essentials - bread, peanut butter, jam + snacks and fruit – we packed just over 75 lunches. As we passed out the lunches to their residents, we were able to see the great work CCC is doing for Portland first-hand, as well as hear from their team about the full scope of services they provide across the city.
